FAYZAH'S TANGO BIOGRAPHY:
Fayzah has had a life long love affair with dance, and has had extensive training in ballet, jazz, modern, middle eastern, Indian, african, capoeira, and many styles of latin american dance.   She traveled often with her family growing up, and has lived in Europe, California, and Arizona where she was first introduced to tango in 1997.   Since then she has had the pleasure of studying with various distinguished teachers in North America.   She credits Homer Ladas as a main inspiration throughout the years.

In 2003 Fayzah started teaching tango classes in Puerto Rico with Alisa Schlesinger from Los Angeles.

Having never met before moving to San Juan, but coming from the same school of thought, Alisa and Fayzah developed a class curriculum which emphasized developing a strong partner connection, and learning good body mechanics.

Her mother's father was argentine, and through listening to tango music she feels a connection to some of her ancestor's.   Her roles in tango include being an events organizer, performer. teacher, and student.   She is dedicated to the Tango Puerto Rico community, and will help the scene continue to grow by bringing very good tango teachers to the island to share their expertise.

She is currently based in New York where she dances regularly, teaching strengthening and stretching techniques to dancers, especially for feet and ankles, to prevent injuries.   You can get more info or contact Fayzah via her website at www.dancespiral.com.
